The Vogalonga is a non-competitive celebration for all rowers. This peaceful protest against wave damage caused by motor boats, and lagoon degeneration,brings together Venetians and enthusiasts from around the world.
After the traditional cannon shot, which marks the start of the event, the 30 km itinerary will take us through the canals close to the Vignole, Sant'Erasmo, San Francesco del Deserto, the two largest islands Burano and Murano and will conclude the adventure by crossing the Grand Canal, surrounded by the splendid Venetian palaces.
We will leave from Punta Sabbioni to arrive on time at the start, scheduled for 09:00, in the San Marco basin. The Vogalonga is open to everyone, however it is worth specifying that it is a route of approximately 32 km beyond the round trip to Punta Sabbioni, for a total of 46 km. It is not mandatory to complete the entire route, but only those who reach the finish line will be given the certificate and medal.
What should I bring with me? An adequate supply of water, snacks, sunscreen and hat.
All the details will then be communicated via email close to the event.

I was born on the island of Burano and I relocated to Cavallino-Treporti just over a decade ago. Water has always been the dominant element in my life.
As most islanders, since I was a child, I’ve spent a huge amount of time on boats – motorboats, rowboats, sailboats – marking out my days to the rhythm of the tides.
I started paddling at a mature age, initially for fun, then on a competitive level receiving even many national recognitions in the Olympic sprint discipline, today it has become my job.
A job that combines my love for this magical stretch of water and healthy movement.
I am a Level 2 instructor certified by the Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation (FICK), a recognition that allows me to share my passion and experience with those who wish to approach this wonderful sport.
